Can dogs hike in Redwood National Park?
Partial Partly. Some trails and areas, not all.
Dogs are kept off almost every trail, with a few beaches and old fire roads as the exceptions.
Where dogs can go
Enderts Beach, Crescent Beach, paved areas, fire roads and campgrounds.
What we do instead
Howland Hill Road and the Newton B. Drury Parkway, driven with the windows down.
Watch out for
Roosevelt elk in the rut. A bull is as dangerous as a bison, so keep her well back.
CA. On our route: around Nov 2 to 8. Rules change: check the park's own pet page before you go. Rhea is never boarded or kenneled; where she can't go, we find somewhere she can.
